Info on Community-Based Research Forum

Some of you may be interested in the Proceedings from a campus forum on community-based research held at the University of Victoria last April. The CBR Forum was conceived by the the Vice President of Research at UVic in response to a small but enthusiastic group of faculty advocating for support for CBR. The CBR Forum demonstrated there is a high proportion of researchers at UVic who engage in CBR, and a collective will to establish a formal structure at UVic that would support existing CBR researchers and projects, as well as expand the capacity at UVic for CBR.
There is still a lot of background work to do and much discussion needed, especially at the community level, but many of us see gaining support for CBR from the higher Admininstration as a significant and positive step for UVic.
