The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society has been a visionary not-for-profit organization in the Greater Philadelphia Region since its founding in 1827. PHS organizes the annual Philadelphia International Flower Show, the world’s largest and longest-running indoor flower show, which brings 250,000 visitors and creates a $61 million economic impact to the city. PHS’s Philadelphia Green helps transform lives through revolutionary programs like City Harvest, which has grown and donated 77,000 lbs of fresh produce in three years—helping to feed 1,000 families each week of the growing season. PHS will also lead the new Plant One Million, an ambitious program to plant one million trees in the tri-state region of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Individual Giving Coordinator will be responsible for implementing strategies to increase the organization’s support from individuals through its Annual Fund and 1827 Society. The successful candidate will oversee the gift acquisition, upgrade and renewal processes of the Annual Fund and play a key role in the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of 1827 Society donors ($1,250 to $9,999). S/he will work in close collaboration with the Development team and Senior Staff to achieve fundraising goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists in the creation of the annual plan, and with organizational goals and department budget.
Assists in design and implementation of a year-round plan of cultivation activities and stewardship plans for donors and prospects.
Supports direct mail, marketing and tele-fundraising efforts, including appeal writing and the production of appropriate printed materials.
Monitoring of the Development Committee and other volunteers in the solicitation process as well as assisting in the direct solicitation of individual gifts to the annual fund.
Supports annual giving renewal, gift entry and acknowledgement processes.
Helps in preparation of analytical reports and monitors progress of annual giving campaign progress.
Assists with prospect research, major gifts assignments.
Provides support to PHS activities, special events, and other related responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
3-5 years Development experience required; prior experience with Annual Fund preferred.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Windows, Excel, Microsoft Access and Raisers’ Edge fundraising database.
Must possess excellent writing, editing, verbal, and organizational skills.
Must have a high level of motivation, energy, enthusiasm, conscientiousness, and creativity. Must also possess ability to work collaboratively and produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Must be committed to the mission of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.
Candidates with knowledge of Philadelphia community preferred.
