Independent Sector Invites Nominations for 2006 Virginia A. Hodgkinson Research Prize
Deadline: June 30, 2006
Independent Sector (<a href="http://www.independentsector.org">http://www.independentsector.org</a>) is now accepting nominations for the 2006 Virginia A. Hodgkinson Research Prize.
The Hodgkinson Prize was established by Independent Sector in 1995 to recognize outstanding published research that fosters the understanding of philanthropy, voluntary action, charitable organizations, and civil society in the United States and around the world. The prize is awarded to researchers and practitioners who work in or with the voluntary sector and through their work have achieved local, national, or international impact and recognition.
The submitted research article, report, or book must have been published within the last three calendar years. Entries must be published by a commercial publishing house or a professional organization or association. Unpublished theses or dissertations and self-published works are not accepted. Entries must be submitted in English or translated into English.
Submissions from researchers and practitioners representing any discipline within the nonprofit field or organization are welcome. Multi-disciplinary approaches, submissions from young scholars and practitioners working in collaboration with others, and from researchers and practitioners at the start of their careers are encouraged.
Anyone can nominate an author for the award. Self-nominations will be accepted.
Award recipients will be honored at the 2006 Independent Sector Annual Conference in Minneapolis/St. Paul, October 22-24. Complete program guidelines, nomination form, and information on recent winners can be found at the Independent Sector Web site.
