Kessler Foundation Announces Grant Opportunities to Increase Employment for People With Disabilities in New Jersey
Deadline: Various
The Kessler Foundation (http://www.hhkfdn.org/) has announced the availability of new grant guidelines for the 2009 cycle of its Signature Employment and Community Employment Grant programs. One of America’s largest public charities supporting people with physical disabilities, the foundation works to improve the lives of people with physical disabilities by engaging in activities to assist people with physical disabilities, supporting the efforts of others who serve individuals with disabilities, and raising, managing, and distributing resources to support the Kessler Research Center.
Signature Program Grants: This multi-year grant program supports large initiatives that increase opportunities for New Jersey citizens with disabilities to obtain competitive employment. Projects must be collaborative, have multiple funding sources, and serve a large geographic area. Applicants may seek funding for two years. Grants amounts are $100,000 to $250,000 per year, for maximum project funding of $500,000. A Letter of Inquiry must be submitted to the foundation in order to be considered for the grant. The foundation will subsequently invite selected organizations to submit a full application. Organizations located outside of the service area may apply, providing the project is based in New Jersey. (Letters of Inquiry Deadline: December 18, 2008.)
Community Employment Grants: This program supports projects, programs, pilot initiatives, and creative solutions that work toward improving the employment and career advancement of New Jerseyans with disabilities. Grants are for one year and range from $25,000 to $50,000 each. (Deadline: November 25, 2008.)
