Incorporating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in a Cross-Sector Post-secondary Attainment Agenda
Posted by Equal Measure on June 19, 2017
As our first Advancing Equity publication, we would like to share Incorporating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in a Cross-Sector Post-secondary Attainment Agenda: Lessons from Lumina Foundation’s Community Partnership for Attainment Initiative. In this Issue Brief, we describe how Lumina Foundation Community Partnership for Attainment (CPA) communities have applied DEI principles to influence their partnership and attainment efforts. We draw from data collected through interviews with representatives from all 75 communities, visits to 14 communities, and follow-up interviews with 10 communities focused specifically on the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We conclude the Brief with recommendations about how to deepen the conversation about the DEI imperative in post-secondary, community, and systems change efforts. Equal Measure served as the evaluator for this initiative.
