The Center for Urban Education, Equity, and Improvement presents the Inaugural Shirley Dixon Celebration of Urban Education Symposium

The Center for Urban Education, Equity, and Improvement at Cabrini University, will host the inaugural Shirley Dixon Urban Education Symposium. The theme for this year’s symposium is Moral and Courageous Leadership. This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Rich Milner, who is widely regarded as one of the most influential educators in the United States. Dr. Milner is the Helen Faison Endowed Chair of Urban Education at the University of Pittsburgh. His latest book is titled, Rac(e)ing to Class: Confronting Poverty and Race in Schools and Classrooms.

The Center for Urban Education, Equity, and Improvement (CUEEI) integrates the mission of the University to further work alongside historically underserved communities and schools. Integrated throughout the Center’s activities and strategic initiatives is a commitment to service, strengthening relationships, and building solidarity.
