Implicit Bias Training Course, NIH

Posted by National Institutes of Health on June 20, 2023

Implicit bias is a form of bias that occurs automatically and unintentionally, that nevertheless affects judgments, decisions, and behaviors. Research has shown implicit bias can pose a barrier to recruiting and retaining a diverse scientific workforce. The good news is that implicit bias can be mitigated with awareness and effective bias-reduction strategies.

NIH COSWD offers a 3-module course designed to help users learn what bias is, how to recognize it, and how to minimize its impact. It expands on the original 2-module course “NIH Implicit Bias” by providing users with knowledge and strategies to create psychological safety and enhance employee engagement to foster an inclusive workplace culture.
