IMPACT National Conference – Feb. 22-25

We are thrilled to announce that in its 40th anniversary as an organization, IMPACT will be hosted by Stephen F. Austin State University, a member of The University of Texas System, February 22-25, 2024! We cannot wait to once again be in community and learn with you in Nacogdoches, Texas. It’s been a while since we’ve been in the Central Region of the country and we are excited to bring the caliber of IMPACT to Texas during this moment in our history.

Stephen F. Austin University (SFA) is a public university located in the heart of East Texas in historic Nacogdoches (with claims of being the oldest Anglo town in Texas).

As SFA celebrates its 100th anniversary and enters its next century of learning and leading, we actively seek to lead by example in our promotion of unity from all levels — students, faculty, staff, alumni and community. Our campus must understand “where we are” to know “where we need to go.” SFA faculty, staff and students are committed to supporting and taking action for the common good of all.

SFA will host the IMPACT Conference as a key step toward championing discussion, action and change — both internally and across a national network of colleagues, campuses and organizations working toward supporting similar changes and actions at local, state and national levels. We are grateful for and want to show additional support for the individuals and offices committed to service, advocacy and socially responsible work in the pursuit of social justice. Hosting the IMPACT Conference will allow SFA to provide space to prompt critical discussions to, as our Diversity and Inclusion Statement reads, “amplify a campus culture that nurtures belonging and embraces similarities while celebrating that every Lumberjack will be different.”

What is the IMPACT Conference?

IMPACT is the largest volunteer-led and student-centered service, action and advocacy conference in the nation. For 40 years, the IMPACT Conference has gathered hundreds of students and service learning, civic and student engagement administrators and faculty to learn from each other, no matter where they are on their service and advocacy journey.

Some things you can look forward to include:

• Keynote speakers leading the field of service, advocacy and social justice
• Workshops led by students that focus on best practices within service & advocacy
• Workshops led by fellow administrators that focus on your professional development while supporting students and implementing new initiatives
• Networking opportunities with your peers and non-profit professionals
• An exhibitors fair for your students to meet with leading cause-driven organizations and learn about service learning, internship or career opportunities
