Repair the World Invites Letters of Inquiry for Immersive Jewish Service-Learning Grants

Repair the World, which works to make service a defining element of American Jewish life, learning, and leadership, has announced the availability of funding in 2011-12 to support Immersive Jewish Service-Learning programs for North American Jewish adults between the ages of 18 and 25.

Repair the World supports IJSL programs that are at least one week and up to a year in length. To be considered for funding, programs need to demonstrate that they provide authentic service which addresses genuine and unmet community needs and must be intentionally designed to achieve well-articulated outcomes for both participants and service recipients. The service and learning components need to be fully integrated and aligned with one another to enable participants to have a cohesive and meaningful experience that also benefits the communities served.

The current Letter of Inquiry process is for programs that are not currently funded by Repair the World. The LOI process is very competitive, and only those organizations whose programs fit most closely with Repair the World’s programmatic goals will be invited to submit a full proposal in the second phase of the application process.
