iCamp Summer Media Academy, West Chester Univ. – Apr 4

Posted by West Chester University on March 22, 2022

West Chester University’s iCamp Summer Media Academy is back and ready for business in 2022!  This awesome opportunity is free for Philadelphia High School students.  iCamp is an in-person, week-long summer academy at West Chester University (WCU) July 24-30, 2022. This residential academy is ideal for students who want to develop media skills, i.e., games, video, podcasts and audio, web content, etc., and who share an interest in social change and issues of equity, access, and empowerment. Our team, in partnership with community organizations, wants to help Philadelphia HS students develop college-level academic, social, and technical literacies that are vital for college preparedness and beyond. iCamp offers an intensive week-long experience for the youth to develop media for social change by developing projects that address issues of impact to their lives and community needs. Applications are open and available on our website.

We want to make sure we can answer any questions you and/or your students have about applying to iCamp.  Please join us at the Help Hub for one of our info sessions on the following dates: Monday 4/4/2022 at 6PM, and Saturday 4/9/2022 12PM or feel free to review the below information about iCamp 2022.

We also have a WCU iCamp Leadership Team that is eager to assist our future iCamp members. We’ve received a great pool of applicants, but we want every rising junior (current sophomores) and senior (current juniors) in Philadelphia to have this wonderful opportunity to make media for change. The application deadline has been extended to April 22, 2022, to ensure that this free opportunity is made possible for as many students as possible.
