Hybrid Event: Exploring Trends: How Immigration Shapes Our Region – Sep 18

Posted by WHYY on September 9, 2025

The Welcoming Center and WHYY are co-hosting an in-person convening to debut The State of Immigration in Greater Philadelphia, a new report from The Welcoming Center that provides a data-based snapshot of the economic, civic and demographic roles immigrants play across our region.

The event will be livestreamed on WHYY’s Facebook page.

For many years immigration has been a consistent part of Greater Philadelphia’s landscape, influencing population trends, workforce dynamics and community life. This gathering will explore what could change if immigration patterns shift or slow, drawing on both new research and perspectives from different sectors.

The program will include moderated panel conversations with leaders from community and public sectors, offering insights on trends, challenges and opportunities for the region moving forward.

This event is free and open to the public but registration is required. Refreshments will be served.

Date and Time: Thursday, September 18, 2025, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Location: WHYY Studios, 150 N. 6th Street, Philadelphia, Pa. 19106
