AAAS Releases First Humanities Indicators Survey.
As part of its effort to begin charting trends in humanities research and education, the Humanities Indicators project released its analysis of statistics gathered from humanities departments at 1,400 colleges and universities. Humanities Indicators is a project that was started a year ago by the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS) aimed at developing the type of long-term data and trend analysis provided for scientific and engineering disciplines by the National Science Board’s publication, Science and Engineering Indicators. The goal is to fill gaps about the humanities and to establish baselines for monitoring trends.
