Latham Foundation for the Promotion of Humane Education Invites Applications for Grants Program
Founded in 1918 by Edith and Milton Latham, the Latham Foundation for the Promotion of Humane Education teaches kindness and respect for all living things by promoting humane education as a core value that has a positive and effective impact on society. The hierarchy of humane education included in the memorialized Latham Steps are: kindness to animals, kindness to each other, kindness to other people, kindness to our country, kindness to other nations, and kindness to the world.
To that end, the foundation welcomes applications for its Humane Education Grant program, which awards grants of up to $10,000 in support of programs focused on animal-assisted activities that demonstrate people and animals working together to benefit both, and include humane education. This year, the foundation is giving priority to programs that include services for active military, veterans, and their families.
To be eligible, applicants must be U.S.-based organizations. While nonprofit organizations will have priority, grants will not be limited to those who have attained 501(c)(3) status.
Proposals will be accepted from July 1 through July 10, 2021.
For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the Latham Foundation for the Promotion of Humane Education website.
Deadline: July 10, 2021
