Human Resources Generalist Part-time (25) Hours/week
The Center for Literacy’s mission is to provide a range of literacy services, including reading, writing, math, life and work skills, to help a diverse population of learners meet their needs and achieve their personal and employment-related goals. A part-time (25 hours per week) Human Resources Generalist is being sought to perform the responsibilities required to ensure staff excellence, legal compliance, and mission accomplishment. This position reports to the President/Executive Director.
Responsibilities:
• Assist management in recruiting, hiring and retaining a diverse pool of individuals whose strengths contribute to CFL’s effectiveness.
• Provide day-to-day operational responsibilities, including as examples, employee relations, employee investigations, recruitment/hiring/HR onboarding process, and responding to UC/WC claims.
• Insure organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Manage employee benefits, including annual renewals.
• Provide input on personnel budgets for major contracts
• Utilize HRIS software.
• Ensure CFL policies and procedures are legally compliant and applied fairly to all employees.
• Facilitate performance evaluation process including annual managerial training.
• Conduct and analyze staff exit and other interviews/surveys for data tracking, analysis and action purposes.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related field required, advanced degree preferred.
• Additional degree/minor in the social services, education or organizational development preferred.
• PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years human resources experience in a generalist capacity. Experience in the non-profit and/or education field preferred.
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret employment legislation and regulations required.
• Computer literacy – Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Experience with major HR and payroll software solutions required. Experience with SAGE Suite (HRMS, alerts, actions and timesheets),and iRecruit applicant tracking system preferred.
• Superior communication skills – written and oral required.
• Strong interpersonal skills required.
Schedule: To be determined. This is a part-time position of 25 hours per week.

Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits eligible.
