PANO presents human resources workshop
The Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations will sponsor Human Resources Best Practices: The Musts, the Shoulds, and the Don’ts on two dates and locations in September and October.
The workshop discusses what topics should be addressed by personnel policies, how to develop policies around compensatory time, flex time, exempt vs. non-exempt, whether staff should be awarded, accruing, or earning paid time off and similar issues.
In light of the current economy, organizations can better learn about how to manage their risk with respect to terminations or layoffs and assuring compliance in the administration of compensation and benefits? Based on the PANO Standards for Excellence guidelines, this program will increase the effectiveness of agency human resource practices and minimize legal risks.

The program will be offered in two locations. On Tuesday, September 8th from 9am-noon, it will be presented in Harrisburg. On Tuesday, October 6th it will be held in Reading. Both sessions will run from 9am-noon. The cost is $59 for PANO members and $79 for nonmembers.
