HUD + Higher Ed Engagement Network Briefing: Increasing Affordable Housing Voucher Use
Posted by Campus Compact on December 20, 2022
The HUD + Higher Ed Think Tank recently held a very productive meeting to address a key issue: Improving the number of landlords who accept affordable housing vouchers in key communities. In this briefing, find key takeaways for priority communities and learn how your institution can make an impact.
HUD is targeting select communities to improve housing choice options for families in Connecticut, Louisiana, New York, Ohio, Virginia, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and Washington.
HUD’s Housing Choice Voucher program is one of the most effective tools the Department has to expand access to affordable housing across the country. In today’s housing market, it is difficult for many voucher holders to find a landlord willing to participate in the program. HUD local offices are working closely with housing authorities across the nation who have experienced significant challenges with Housing Choice Voucher utilization.
