Course Description:
After completing this course students / practitioners will be able to successfully understand and complete IRS Form 1023 – Application for Recognition of Exemption Under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, along with all supporting organizational documents and attachments, for a definitive ruling as a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization. Additionally, students will learn about the major revisions and processing of IRS Form 1023. This is a project-based course and participants are expected to work on applying for non-profit tax-exemption for their organization during the class. This course is for representatives of community and faith-based organizations incorporated or unincorporated. All materials are included in with the registration.
Facilitator/Trainer: Ari S. Merretazon, M.S.CED is a scientist in the field of Community Economic Development specializing in organizational development, program development, resource development, project management, and acquiring 501(c) (3) tax-exempt status for community and faith-based development corporations.
