How To Get Food Help: A Consumer Guide to FNS Programs
Posted by on February 14, 2011
We are excited to announce the arrival of How To Get Food Help: A Consumer Guide to FNS Programs! How To Get Food Help is a low literacy, clear language brochure targeted at consumers who may be new to navigating social services and assistance applications. The brochure clearly explains all FNS programs that consumers apply to directly, and it gives them basic information to identify which programs might be right for them. It also gives basic next steps to get them started in the application process, as well as links and toll-free numbers for more information. How To Get Food Help will be a useful tool to add to your outreach strategy.
We encourage you to distribute the attached content piece and PPT presentation to your email listservs and publish it in your newsletters. Use the PPT presentation with the brochure for outreach events, volunteer/employee training, and meetings with funders/supporters.
This new brochure is available to order printed copies for free at: http://snap.ntis.gov.
To download a PDF of the brochure and get more information and tips on how to use it in outreach activities, visit: http://www.fns.usda.gov/cga/Publications/food_help.htm.
