NCES report shows achievement gap between white and Hispanic kids
A new report has been released by the National Center for Education Statistics, the U.S. Department of Education’s statistical center, which presents sobering details of a large achievement gap among Hispanic students.
The report, Achievement Gaps: How Hispanic and White Students in Public Schools Perform in Mathematics and Reading on the National Assessment of Educational Progress, shows that mathematics and reading scores for Hispanic students have increased over time, but the gap between Hispanic students and their white counterparts on the National Assessment of Educational Progress has not changed since the 1990s.
