Hospice volunteers needed
Penn Home Care & Hospice, the first hospice licensed by Medicare in the state of Pennsylvania and affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania Health System, is seeking volunteers.
The organization offers opportunities to assist in many areas including patient visits, data entry, clerical work, caregiver support, community education and outreach. Hospice Core Training sessions are scheduled for January 23rd and 30th. Pre-registration and paperwork are required.
Penn Wissahickon Hospice seeks volunteers ages 18 and older to provide support to patients and their caregivers facing end-of-life illness. Volunteers read to patients, provide respite for weary caregivers, visit residents in Assisted Living and Nursing Homes, serve as Greeters at Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse at 18th and Lombard, and provide clerical office support.
Volunteers are also needed for Camp Erin 2010, a weekend grief camp to be held May 14th-16th at Diamond Ridge Camp in Jamison, PA. The camp is a traditional high-energy camp for children ages 6-18 who have lost a significant person in their lives. A variety of volunteer positions are available and training is provided.
To learn more about these opportunities, email Ellen Inglesby-Deering or call her at 610-617-2442.
