State offers planning grants for home visitation programs
The Office of Child Development and Early Learning has announced a new opportunity to create or expand home visitation programs in Philadelphia and other counties to increase access to high quality, evidenced-based home visitation services to families who are at high risk.
In preparation for the 2011-12 home visiting grant awards, OCDEL is offering one-time planning grants to complete a local needs assessment in those counties that have been identified with the highest risk and lowest home visitation reach. Each grantee will be awarded up to $10,000 to cover the costs of completing the local needs assessment, researching and identifying an evidence-based home visitation that would best address the identified local risk, and selecting a sponsoring agency to administer the home visiting program.
