SUMMARY
Updates and implements a comprehensive HIV/AIDS education program and youth health and safety education training program, which provides a range of healthy educational activities and program curriculum, to address the needs of youth 0-23, parents and adult members of the community. Recruits and supports the training of volunteer and paid staff as instructors, who will in turn teach the HIV and youth safety programs.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

? Oversee daily program activities for all HIV/AIDS education programs (Project ABLE, Gathering Places and Healthy Behavior Program) and youth health and safety programs.
? Trains instructors and staff in HIV/AIDS Prevention Education and youth safety for all budgeted and grant-funded HIV/AIDS and youth safety programs.
? Conducts HIV/AIDS and youth safety training courses for customers as needed.
? Develops, cultivates and provides ongoing support for a pool of active volunteer and per diem instructors.
? Maintains program materials, HIV/AIDS curriculum and updates all fact sheets, course information for 1-800 number, resource materials list and the department brochure for all programs to be used in our marketing efforts.
? Increases service delivery over prior year through the identified target audiences to achieve goals through appropriate HIV/AIDS education.
? Distributes ongoing, updated HIV/AIDS information for staff and volunteers through the HIV/AIDS update newsletter published bi-annually.
? Ensures accuracy of computer databases, records and files for all programs and maintains accurate tracking system to monitor goals.
? Maintains appropriate program documentation, which would include needs assessments, goals and objectives, program plans, program delivery, ongoing evaluation activities, record keeping and final reports, in line with current systems for the Youth Services Department and respective funders.
? Supports collection of evaluation data to track customer satisfaction and goals/objectives to meet grant funders, Chapter and National American Red Cross guidelines.
? Completes monthly and quarterly HIV reports/narratives/updates to accurately reflect accomplishments and barriers to achieving goals and solutions to conflicts.
? Ensures that appropriate outreach activities are conducted within and outside of the Red Cross to include the community at large.
? Maintains relationships with Project ABLE and Gathering Places customers through correspondence, follow up phone calls, mailings, distribution and communication for marketing, program delivery and recognition.
? Coordinates and supports annual youth projects and recognition events such as National Black Church Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS; Inter-faith Week of Unity and Compassion for HIV/AIDS; Project ABLE and Healthy Behaviors recognition event and the Oye Award.
? Organizes and supervises Teen Peer Council Saturday meetings and activities on a bi-monthly basis.
? Schedule and conduct Gathering Places Guiding Committee meetings on a quarterly basis.
? Serves on local committees as appropriate for networking with local agencies.
? Contributes to and supports the cost recovery and grant funding needs of the Youth Services Department, including development of grant submissions, narratives and program models.
? Assists the Red Cross in disaster support services as needed.
