Description:
MCC seeks a self motivated individual to conduct HIV prevention and education focused services to pregnant and newly parenting women. Responsible for conducting one on one and group sessions to at risk women in the community. The HIV Specialty Advocate will also conduct home visits to provide education on related health topics, parenting and prenatal care. Maintains contact with clients to ensure connection to needed healthcare and other community resources; provides additional support to clients needing more intensive follow-up and makes referrals to appropriate agencies. The HIV Specialty Advocate will learn about and make contact with community resources needed by clients, participate in community and parent meetings, outreach events, and in trainings. Will use organizational database and keep accurate records of all contacts and services provided. Qualified candidates will possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Knowledge and experience working in the field of HIV prevention, preferred. High School Diploma or its equivalent/college preferred. Strong presentation and communication skills required.
