NCTM Accepting Applications for History of Mathematics Grant
The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is accepting applications from individual math teachers for its Professional Development Scholarship Emphasizing the History of Mathematics grant program.
The program provides financial support for completing credited course work in the history of mathematics, personal study focused on some aspect of the history of mathematics; the creation and field-testing of grade 6-12 classroom activities that incorporate the history of mathematics; and/or the preparation and delivery of a professional development presentation to colleagues.
To be eligible, applicants must be a current (on or before April 22, 2016) individual or e-member of NCTM, have taught school mathematics for at least three years, and intend to remain in teaching. All activities must be completed by August 31, 2017.
