Hire a WorkReady Summer Intern
Posted by Philadelphia Youth Network on April 10, 2017
WorkReady Summer offers businesses the opportunity to invest in the future of their organization and the city by hiring youth participants who complete a six-week (120 hour), paid work experience.
Participating in WorkReady Summer is not just a great opportunity to deliver community impact, it provides employers with significant returns on investment. According to Grads of Life, hiring young people results in:
- Cost effective talent acquisition
- Increased retention
- Higher productivity
- Increased diversity
- Enhanced employee engagement
KPMG, a supporter of WorkReady, loves hosting WorkReady interns at their Philadelphia office:
“We are always looking to better the communities in which we do business and there is no better way than giving young adults opportunities to gain exposure to and experience in a professional services environment,” says Ian Laiks, Human Resources at KPMG. “We get the efforts of some very intelligent and hardworking young people and we see the program as being mutually beneficial. We strive to provide internship experiences that drive the motivation of the youth to continue their education and enter the workforce (hopefully for KPMG!). ”
