High School and College Educators: “Spring” Institute, Cultural Responsiveness – Oct 15

Posted by Philadelphia Education Fund on October 13, 2020

Convened by PEF’s Philadelphia Postsecondary Success Program (PPSP), the Institute is a free professional learning opportunity for high school and college educators to convene and share knowledge related to the alignment of teaching and learning practices at both levels.

This year’s “Spring” Institute was delayed until now due to Covid. This program will focus on culturally responsive teaching and learning across the high school and college levels. Culture is central to learning, communicating, and receiving information, and culturally responsive teaching recognizes the importance of including students’ cultural references in all aspects of learning.

Participants are invited to join in dialogue and lesson design and will hear from students about their experiences in culturally sustaining classrooms. Act 48 credits will be available for participation in this event.

Date and Time: October 29, 2020, 4:00-6:00 PM
