HIAS and Council Migration Service of Philadelphia Annual Event

HIAS and Council Migration Service of Philadelphia (“HIAS and Council”) is hosting their annual event to honor community leaders who have helped immigrants and refugees integrate into our city. This year’s theme is “Building Bridges, Opening Doors,” and it will take place on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 5:30 – 8:30 PM at the Union League, 140 S. Broad Street. The honorees include Dechert, LLP and their pro bono team, the Executive Director of Philadelphia’s Commission on Human Relations, Rue Landau, the Deputy Commissioner for the City of Philadelphia’s Licenses & Inspections, Anuj Gupta, and Dr. Lena Allen Shore, a Holocaust survivor, teacher, poet, and humanitarian. The cocktail reception will feature live entertainment from Mr. Eddie Bruce, a nationally known singer and band leader. Tickets are $118, with reduced rates for non-profit service providers and students, and they can be purchased on-line at http://www.hiaspa.org or by contacting the organization at 215-832-0900.
