Training series supports foster youth with challenging behaviors
The Pennsylvania Council for Children, Youth and Family Services and Silver Springs-Martin Luther School are offering a unique training series aimed at increasing participants’ knowledge and understanding of the behavioral and emotional needs of children placed in out-of-home care, so they can more effectively respond to children’s needs in a manner that minimizes trauma and enhances healing.
Participants also will enhance their coaching skills so they can support children’s caregivers and families and teach them effective interventions to use in their care for children with behavioral and emotional issues.
A participant can chose to take one or more of the four sessions, which are held monthly beginning September 26th. Topics include Trauma and Stressor-Related Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorders and Disruptive, Impulse-Control, and Conduct Disorders.
