Help Teachers Get Ready for School
Posted by on July 22, 2013
Help get teachers and students off to a great start this Fall! A school supply warehouse is being established at Bok High School where teachers can “shop” for school supplies for the upcoming school year and your assistance is needed to set it up in time for school to start. Volunteers are needed during the last week of August and first 2 weeks of September to unpack, inventory and organize school supplies such as library books, text books and PE equipment (basketballs, footballs etc). Additionally, volunteers are needed to create a centralized system that will allow teachers to pick up/ sign out resources students will need to succeed in the upcoming school year.
Approximately 10-20 volunteers are needed Monday through Friday for full or half day shifts between August 26th through September 13th. Bok High School is located at 1901 S 9th street Philadelphia PA 19148, the building has free on sight parking and air conditioning. Interested individuals or groups should contact Dedra Totin at dtotin@uwgpsnj.org or 215-665-2414 to sign up.
August 26 – September 5: Help unpack and organize Bok in manner that will allow schools to come the week after school starts to pick up / sign out resources that they need for their schools. For example, for excess materials that we obtain out of the move, e.g., library books, text books, PE equipment (basket balls, footballs, etc.), will be available for schools to obtain.
¨ September 9 – 13: Help central office coordinate the signing out of materials (for inventory purposes) and to help schools get what they need.
