Help Inspect Voting Machines

THE COMMITTEE OF SEVENTY
PRIMARY ELECTION 2005
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
FRIDAY, MAY 6th, 2005
Each Election Day, non-partisan Committee of Seventy volunteers can be found in virtually every city neighborhood, working visibly to ensure fair elections. An equally important, but lesser known component of ensuring that Philadelphia election results reflect the collective will of the voters is the independent voting machine inspection which takes place 10 days before the Election. As a volunteer machine inspector, you will test the accuracy of randomly selected voting machines under the supervision of election officials and the representatives of various candidates, just hours before the machines are sent to the polling places. The date set for machine inspection is Friday, May 6, 2005. You will be asked to meet Seventy?s staff at our offices at 9:30am in order to go to the warehouse, and we should be back in Center City by 1 PM.
If you are interested in helping Seventy on May 6th, request a registration form by calling 215-557-3600.
