Healthy Schools Project Farmer/Educator, Greener Partners

Greener Partners is a non-profit focused on strengthening community health through equitable fresh food access, abundant farms and gardens, and discovery-based learning. The Healthy Schools Project layers fresh food resources in a school community, combining no-cost produce distributions and community workshops; Farm Explorer lessons plus afterschool programs; support for creating and maintaining bountiful school and community gardens; and other initiatives co-created with the school community.

Greener Partners is hiring for a new position in Norristown, full-time (40 hrs/wk), with benefits. The Healthy Schools Project Farmer-Educator position combines education, gardening/urban farming, and community engagement work. The ideal candidate will be a skilled gardener/farmer; an engaging, experienced educator; have a passion for plant-forward cooking; and be committed to anti-racism work.

The Farm Explorer connects young people to the science behind growing food, sparking interest in harvesting, cooking, and trying vegetables, fruits, and herbs. The Farm Explorer Truck brings a farm field trip experience directly to sites, with hands-on activities about agriculture, the food system, and healthy eating. Our Healthy Schools Projects expands work with the school community through an integrated approach to food education, access, and sovereignty. It includes afterschool programs; partnerships with schools and community groups to distribute fresh produce, do taste tests, and lead cooking circles; and support for school, community, and home gardeners.
