The Healthy Huntingdon Partnership between Juniata College and J.C. Blair Hospital seeks to address the social determinants of health related to rural poverty through the implementation of a population health initiative called “Force for Health” that aims to improve health literacy.

Work of the VISTA will include: serving as a liaison with FfH Clubs and their advisors, identifying and establishing partnerships in local school districts and organizations, establishing processes and channels of communication/information sharing, developing promotional strategies and materials, supporting the efforts of FfH Clubs including identification of issues/projects using the IDEAS Model (Identify, Design, Engage, Assess, Share), supporting the work of the FfH program director at J.C. Blair, recruiting Juniata students to volunteer with and support FfH Clubs, as well as looking for opportunities to create partnerships with other local organizations and Juniata faculty and staff to support the sustainable development and efforts of FfH Clubs in Huntingdon County with the goal of increasing health literacy.
