Obama Administration Details Healthy Food Financing Initiative
On February 19, 2010, the Obama Administration released the details of its $400 million, multi-year, Healthy Food Financing Initiative which brings together the Departments of Treasury, Agriculture, and Health and Human Services to establish more healthy food retailers in rural and urban communities. The Administration has also announced its goal to eliminate “food deserts,” communities that lack healthy food options, in the next seven years.
