Tides Advocacy Healthy Democracy Action Fund Invites Applications
Tides Advocacy is a team of political, financial, operational, and legal experts deeply committed to advancing social justice.
Launched in 2020, Tides Advocacy’s Healthy Democracy Action Fund (HDAF) is committed to fundamentally changing the balance of power in U.S. politics by building the influence of historically marginalized and underrepresented communities, with a focus on mobilizing for elections, shaping the public agenda, and demanding policy change.
To that end, the fund is inviting applications for its Political Movement Infrastructure Project. HDAF is interested in providing funding between $25,000 and $50,000 for infrastructure priorities that support a vision for liberation through internal systems, organizational strengthening, and other tools. Movement infrastructure investments should reflect each organization’s unique vision and priorities and may range from strengthening digital communications platforms to better community engagement, to advancing integrated safety and security planning. The work should be led by communities directly impacted by injustice, especially efforts led by BIPOC communities, and the organization or group should be invested in building long-term, independent political power.
Eligible organizations or groups should have a budget of under $2 million.
For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the Tides Advocacy website.
Deadline: September 15, 2021
