Health and Nursing Innovations Lab
Posted by Social Innovations Institute on July 10, 2017
The Health and Nursing Innovations Lab is a social sector and business development academic incubator that was created for students and professionals working in the health, human services and education sectors. The overarching goal of the workshop is to inspire new health care delivery ideas generated by nursing students, nurses and healthcare professionals, via out-of-the-box thinking. This is achieved by building participating nurses’ creative thinking capacity to create innovative models to address health, human services and social issues, and by introducing them the business and planning skills to which private-sector entrepreneurs typically have access through formal education and training.
Designed for all nursing students, professional nurses, and healthcare professions, this is a 4 and 1/2-day interactive series that examines the role of social innovation and social entrepreneurship and the concept of creating private and social enterprise businesses as a different way of doing business and solving complex health and human services challenges and opportunities in a region, national and globally. The Social Innovations and Enterprise Health Lab is the only lab internationally of its kind to focus on and prepare nurses through a series of learning modules to become social entrepreneurs.
