Posted by on January 8, 2007
The Healing Place will premiere at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service on January 15, 2007 at 9:00-11:00am at Martin Luther King, Jr. High School (6100 Stenton Avenue, Philadelphia). The Healing Place, a program of BuildaBridge International, is an 8-week, arts-based training program to equip teachers, parents and older youth with practical tools and methods to recognize, respond and appropriately refer children and youth who suffer from trauma in response to violence, conflict, and catastrophe. The MLK Day of Service presentation will provide a free introductory training for parents, teachers and older youth.
BuildaBridge International (BI) is a non-profit arts education organization dedicated to bringing hope and healing to vulnerable children, families, and communities in the tough places of the world through direct arts-integrated intervention (social, spiritual, educational, and therapeutic) and cross-cultural service. BI motivates, enlists, trains and connects those who have the desire to serve others through their artistic gifts with those in greatest need.
