Hands On Science Outreach: Call for Nominees
Posted by on July 9, 2004
This is a wonderful opportunity to bring a new program to your community. Could it fill a need that you have at your site?
Hands On Science Outreach (HOSO) announces a call for participants in "Cultivating Curiosity: Growing Science Enrichment." Those selected to take part in this grant-supported project will attend a four-day training opportunity and be certified as local coordinators in HOSO, an international nonprofit organization whose mission is to spark an interest in science and mathematics in children.
HOSO coordinators will establish local programs and train adults to use HOSO?s informal, inquiry-based, hands-on materials with children from Pre-K through sixth grade. HOSO Programs, and the duties of a HOSO Coordinator, are easily incorporated into existing afterschool programs. HOSO can also be used to make new enrichment opportunities available to local children. Partial funding for ?Cultivating Curiosity? is made possible through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
Please note the deadline to submit nominations is July 15, 2004.
