Gulf-South Summit on Service-Learning and Civic Engagement through Higher Education
Posted by on October 22, 2004
We are looking for service-learning practitioners who would like the opportunity to review workshop proposals for the 2005 Gulf-South Summit on Service-Learning and Civic Engagement through Higher Education. The Summit will be held on April 6-8, 2005 in Cocoa Beach, Florida. For more info: http://www.brevardcc.edu/csl/content/Gulf-SouthSummit.htm
There has been a great deal of discussion and growth in higher education institutions around the concepts of service-learning, community engagement, and how institutions can foster civic responsibility and democratic renewal. This Summit unites our region locally and nationally in dialogue. The Summit’s purpose is to facilitate a discussion of best practices, share research, and foster a professional network of practitioners in all levels of service-learning as pedagogy.
If you are interested in reviewing proposals, and do not plan on submitting a proposal, please e-mail Saul Magana (saul@floridacompact.org) by Nov 19th.
