Guide for First-time Supervisors
Posted by La Salle Nonprofit Center on November 6, 2017
Position your New Supervisors for Success
As a new supervisor, there are additional demands unrelated to work-related skills. Suddenly they’ve gone from working in a group to supervising others (perhaps including former peers), and ultimately being held accountable for a team’s performance. This class will present, and allow your new supervisors to practice, techniques that address the common concerns of the role.
The tools taught will ease this transition, addressing top challenges such as learning to delegate while ensuring that the task gets done correctly, providing both positive and negative feedback, establishing trust, energizing staff, setting goals and having productive meetings. This four-hour class will help your supervisors to own this new role, while interacting with people in similar situations so they are better equipped and more confident to master these new demands.
When: December 6, 2017, 9 am to noon
