Grow Your Community
Posted by on August 9, 2002
Join a FREE interactive discussion on Saturday, August 10 from 9:00am-1:00pm that will examine ways to revitalize community through grassroots action! The day’s workshop will be held in Logan at Northwest Counseling Services (5001 N. Broad Street).
First, we meet for a hands-on project. We will clean trash, pull weeds, and secure abandoned houses in this neighborhood recently in the spotlight because of the little Erica Pratt kidnapping. During lunch, we will hear from some heroes of urban revitalization: Sonya Bryant and Michael Heyward, leaders of Let’s Love Logan. As a participant, you will provide food for thought on how to transform our neighborhoods and leave inspired by the energy of these forward-thinking community leaders!
To sign up, please contact Janice at 215-564-4544 or [email protected]. Also, Sonya Bryant can be reached at 215-329-6726.
Citizen Academy is made possible by the generous support of Aetna, The Philadelphia Foundation, and CityCares.
