JOB TITLE: Group Leader for Interfaith Youth Service-Learning Program

The Interfaith Center of Greater Philadelphia is seeking Group Leaders for Walking the Walk, an interfaith youth service-learning initiative that brings together groups of high school youth from congregations of different religious and cultural traditions. Groups meet twice each month for dialogue, service, and reflection as they engage in learning that reinforces shared values among the faiths.

Responsibilities:

•    Facilitate all group sessions
•    Coordinate the community service component of the program
•    Diligent and regular communication with the Interfaith Center  staff
•    Engage and maintain regular communication with the students, mentors, and religious leaders of each partner congregation (three to six congregations per group)
•    Participate in Interfaith Center training

Qualifications:

•    Community-building and group facilitation experience with high school age youth
•    Commitment to the mission and goals of the Interfaith Center
•    Values own faith identity

•    Compensation is $5,000 for the nine month program (approximately 10 hours/week)

•    All group leaders are required to submit a PA Child Abuse Report, PA Criminal Background Check, and FBI Background Check, no more than one year old, upon 30 days of hire. The Interfaith Center will cover these fees.
