Group Facilitator Job Posting- K-8th grade

Congreso North Star is a dynamic academic and enrichment-based after-school program that serves K-8th grade students in North Philadelphia. We are currently seeking energetic, passionate, creative, and skilled educators in for the Group Facilitator position for afterschool programs.

Hours are Monday-Friday during the school year 2:45-6:15pm;    Hourly rates:  starting $10, $11.00 after probationary period.

Group Facilitators lead a small group of students (10-15) for daily homework time (during the school year) and enrichment clubs, as well as field trips and special events.

Group Facilitators are responsible for designing and leading enrichment clubs and candidates should be knowledgeable and passionate about their subject area. Group Facilitators will develop curriculum and create lesson plans for their activities, using the Project-Based Learning educational model.  Candidates should be knowledgeable in their subject area, such as art, digital media, music engineering, culinary, cosmetology, fashion, choir, music, carpentry, science, theatre, dance, soccer, basketball, handball, track, volleyball, baseball/softball, science, technology projects .

•    Especially looking for individuals with science, arts or sports backgrounds!

Requirements:
– Professionalism and strong classroom management skills.
-College degree or currently enrolled in college.
-At least one year of experience working with youth.
-Experience writing lessons plans and guiding activities.
-Knowledge of Philadelphia city resources and Latino community.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
-Spanish/English bilingual ability encouraged.
