GreenSchools! Training Workshops
Grey Towers National Historic Site, Milford, PA
December 2, 2014
8:00AM to 3:30PM

Teachers, administrators, custodians, students, parents, partners and volunteers are encouraged to attend!

This nationwide environmental service-learning program helps improve students’ academic performance in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) subjects while providing a blueprint for teachers, students, administrators, parents, and community members to engage in creating more green and healthy learning environments. Student-driven investigations and their ensuing action projects increase students’ leadership skills, and give students a sense of empowerment and ownership of projects they lead to green their schools.

* Training costs will be covered by partner organizations.
* Lunch will be provided for all participants.
* Substitute teacher expense stipend is available.
* Act 48 hours are available.

Training will be facilitated by National Project Learning Tree GreenSchools! representatives

This workshop will be very interactive. Participants will learn about PLT background information and curricula, the path to becoming a certified PLT GreenSchool!, monitoring different environmental issues and parameters, discussing applications to their schools and communities, and developing an action plan to investigate their schools.
