8th Annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service
January 20, 2003
For the past seven years, a wonderful spirit of unity has been in abundance as more than 100,000 people of all ages and backgrounds have celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.?s birthday by volunteering in the Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service. Our mission has been to embrace Dr. King?s legacy by turning community concerns into citizen action. Each year the Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service has exceeded all expectations as the largest King Day of Service event in the nation. On January 20, 2003, we have the opportunity to join together to sustain our commitment to citizen action and volunteer service as we hold the 8th annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service. We plan to have more than 30,000 volunteers serving at hundreds of projects sites throughout southeastern Pennsylvania and Camden County, New Jersey. Please join with us on January 20th in celebration of King?s legacy of turning concerns about some of our nation?s most pressing challenges into action and results. To be a part of the movement by creating a project or joining a project, contact Taj Reid, Project Coordinator, at 215.665.2514.
