Great Colleges For the New Majority: 2019 Summer Institute (Charlotte, NC, August 5-8)

We’ve told you in a past Bringing It about the Great Colleges for the New Majority Network (GCNM). GCNM is a consortium of adult-serving colleges and university programs with a particular commitment to engaged, transformative learning for nontraditional students–the new majority of college-goers–and a strong record of success in supporting and graduating these students.

GCNM holds an annual Summer Institute to share best practices, engage common challenges, and build a community of practice that offers adult learners great, engaged education. The Institute is open not only to programs and colleges in the Network, but to all educators interested in supporting adult, nontraditional students. There is no fee for attending.

The 2019 Summer Institute will take place at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina, August 5-8. Save the date, and contact David Scobey (scobey@bttop.org) for registration and agenda information.

To learn about GCNM, here is a link to its mission statement, as well as a video of the keynote discussion from the 2018 Summer Institute, hosted by DePaul University and National Louis University in Chicago.
