Michael Jordan, Jordan Brand Invite Community Organizations to Join Fight to End Systemic Racism

As part of a ten-year, $100 million commitment to fight systemic racism, Michael Jordan, the Jordan Brand, and Nike are providing $1 million through a new Community Grants program to local, grassroots organizations that are creating more equitable futures for Black Americans.

Facilitated by Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, the program continues the long-term vision articulated by Michael Jordan and the Jordan Brand in the summer of 2020. Last year, donations between $500,000 and $1 million each were awarded to the program’s first national partners: the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (LDF), the Formerly Incarcerated Convicted People & Families Movement (FICPFM), and Black Voters Matter. All share a history of driving transformative change at the national level.

To be eligible for a grant, applicant organizations must have a mission or operate programs aligned with the Jordan Brand. U.S.-based 501(c)(3) organizations working to improve outcomes for the Black community and with an annual budget of $3 million or less are encouraged to apply.

Applications will be accepted through April 30 and will be reviewed by an advisory committee comprised of members from the Jordan Brand and Michael Jordan Family Office teams.
