National Crime Prevention Council Offers Grants for Youth Service-Learning Projects
Deadline: April 1 and June 1, 2006
The National Crime Prevention Council ( <a href="http://ncpc.org/">http://ncpc.org/</a> ) will award one hundred grants of up to $500 through its Teens, Crime, and the Community initiative (<a href="http://www.nationaltcc.org/">http://www.nationaltcc.org/</a>).
The grants will support service-learning projects planned and implemented by youth who identify needs and create projects to address or prevent crime, violence, and drug abuse in their schools and communities. These grants are intended to encourage and promote crime prevention, community service, and civic responsibility.
To be eligible for funding, youth must be participating in a Community Works or Youth Safety Corps program or be in a youth group or class of six or more members. All participants must be between the ages of 11 to 19.
Applications for grants for the 2006 Spring and Summer programs must be submitted by April 1, 2006, or June 1, 2006, respectively. Visit the National Crime Prevention Council Web site to download complete program guidelines.
