Each year SPEC announces the application period open for interested organizations to apply for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Tax Counseling for the Elderly grant programs. For the 2016 filing season, the application period extends from May 1 through June 1, 2015.
A conference call is planned for interested applicants on May 5 to discuss the application process, as well as new provisions. The Grant Program Office has already invited current grantees to the conference call. We request the field’s assistance in getting this message out to prospective new grantees.
Application instruction packages are now available on IRS.gov for the 2016 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Tax Counseling for the Elderly grant programs. The application period extends from May 1 through June 1, 2015.
