Challenged Athletes Foundation Invites Applications for 2020 Grants

The mission of the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) is to provide opportunities and support for people with physical challenges so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics.

To advance this mission, the foundation is inviting applications for its 2020 Grants program. Through the program, grants will be awarded to individuals with a permanent physical disability (using the International Paralympic Committee’s eligibility criteria as a guideline) in the following categories:

Travel/Competition Expenses — Funds may be used to pay expenses related to sport/athletic competitions, training camps, or clinics. These expenses may include entry fees and/or expenses related to travel to competitions. Travel-related expenses may include transportation (fuel, rental car, flight, ride share, etc.), accommodations (lodging fees), and meals for the challenged athlete.

Coaching/Training Expenses — Funds may be used to pay for expenses related to specialized coaching (personal trainer, coach etc.) or training (gym fees, clinics, classes, lessons, etc).

Equipment — CAF distributes most adaptive sports equipment through selected distributors who offer discounted pricing. The organization’s list of preferred partners can be found here.

To be eligible, applicants must have a permanent physical disability as identified by the International Paralympic Committee’s eligibility criteria.

See the Challenged Athletes Foundation for complete program guidelines and application instructions.

Deadline: November 1, 2019
