Grants Available to Higher Eds
Posted by on August 3, 2009
With funding made available from Learn and Serve America, PHENND will be awarding up to $165,000 in subgrants to member institutions to support activities in three key areas:
Nonprofit Capacity Building
Student leadership
Student internships
All three programs are designed to support a larger initiative that will mobilize college students to engage in service that connects people to needed services “along the Credit Path.” These services are food stamp enrollment, volunteer income tax assistance, financial education for youth and adults, and micro-entrpreneurship.
Each RFP has it’s own application deadline. The time line is as follows:
Nonprofit Capacity Building – Deadline: October 2, 2009
Student leadership – Deadline: October 30, 2009
Student internships – Deadline: November 13, 2009
Requests for Proposals are available on the PHENND Website.
Two technical assistance meetings will be available:
Wednesday, August 26, 2-4 PM at Widener University, Quick Center Room 108
The Quick Center is located at 13th & Walnut Streets in Chester, PA. Street parking is available around the campus.
Thursday, September 3, 10:30-12:30 PM at Drexel University, Honors College Seminar Room (#5051A) in MacAlister Hall
